SA Web Directory app launched to support migrants and refugees

Delivering on its election commitment, the South Australian Government has supported the delivery of a Multicultural Services Directory Web App which has been developed by the Australian Refugee Association so that new migrants and refugees can obtain easy access to up-to-date and reliable information, advice and support on local services available to them.

The Multicultural Services Directory provides individuals and families who have arrived as migrants and refugees to South Australia easy access to culturally and linguistically appropriate services and information. This important resource will ensure our diverse multicultural communities have access to information that will help them settle and thrive in South Australia.

Users can search for information in more than 20 service categories, including health and wellbeing, women’s services, employment, education and training, housing, and youth. More services will be added in the coming months.

Designed with the refugee and migrant community in mind, the user-friendly, searchable Multicultural Services Directory can be easily downloaded onto mobile phones and other devices – for free.

Government, non-government and multicultural community organisations that provide services and support to migrants and refugees are encouraged to access the app and request to add their details to the Multicultural Services Directory.

Delivering on our election commitment, the user-friendly Multicultural Services Directory invites South Australian migrants and refugees to tap into culturally and linguistically appropriate resources which will help them settle and thrive in our great state.

For more than 45 years, the Australian Refugee Association (ARA) has delivered services to new migrants and refugees. The state government is delighted to take part in this initiative and support ARA in delivering this impactful project.
