Labor is calling for the State Government to offer a $200 SA Tourism Voucher to encourage South Australians to holiday here and help kickstart the local tourism industry.

The dollar-for-dollar scheme would provide a voucher of up to $200 if South Australians spent at least the same amount of their own money purchasing a bookable tourism product.

Voucher bookings and travel would need to be completed by October 31, to help deliver immediate stimulus to the local tourism industry.

The money could be spent on a range of booking products, such as a hotel stay in one of South Australia’s regions, a tourism experience or a tour.

A similar scheme is in place in the Northern Territory.
